This has to be one of the most adorable things I’ve ever seen. Her name is Sonya and she is a Slow Loris (Nycticebus Coucang) – a slow moving primate found throughout southeast Asia inhabiting tropical evergreen rain forests. They are mainly fruit eaters but will also eat insects, leaves and bird’s eggs. The saliva of the species is toxic and used as a defense against predators but as you (more. . .)

I love bats. They’re my second favorite animal. My first love is for cats. Sadly, I am not fond of rats. But it would have made a nice trifecta if I did, yes?

Evolution in action?
This is some fascinating news that sparks all kinds of questions. According to a new book, Thinkers Of The Jungle, by Gerd Schuster, Willie Smits and Jay Ullal, the below image shows an orangutan in the process of attempting to spear a fish. If this is in fact what the ape is doing, then it is a first. No other orangutan has ever been seen using a (more. . .)
