Hear Ye, Hear Ye! I’d like to draw your attention to the fabulous music player in the upper right of this super cool website! See it? It’s right up there! Upper right. Got it? Yeah there it is!
This music player features 50 or so of my favoritest songs. Each and every single one of them means something to me… whether it’s just something that makes me feel good, or (more. . .)

I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. ~ Khalil Gibran
Gibran Memorial in Washington D.C.
Many great writers serve as my muse, but only one is my Master. He is Khalil Gibran (also spelled Kahlil). From the very moment I was introduced to his work, I was lost in the words… filled with inspiration… hungry (more. . .)

On the morning of Sunday 7th May the little girl giant woke up at Horseguards Parade in London, took a shower from the time-traveling elephant and wandered off to play in the park…
This giant doll with the expressive eyes is both beautiful and haunting. Certainly the feel of this video is enhanced by the wonderfully bizarre music (‘Decollage’, by Les Balayeurs du Désert). It almost feels as though we (more. . .)

April 2010 was National Poetry Month. Well, those who know Natalina are well aware that she likes to be fashionably late… (read: procrastination). However, as one who dabbles a bit in poetry and prose, I have a keen appreciation for a talented writer. Further, I am overjoyed when I come upon a writer with the level of talent that I am about to share with you all.

Recently I posted a picture taken in Norway in which a melting glacier exposed a very human looking face that appeared to be weeping vast rivers of tears into the sea. This post became very popular, and still gets hundreds of views every day. MOTHER NATURE CRIES A RIVER OF TEARS
As I was looking through my online photo album today, I came upon a picture that I’d forgotten about. (more. . .)

Just a quick note about a new feature that has been added. You will notice across the top of all of the pages within the World Blogosphere that there is a new bar. It is the BuddyPress bar.
BuddyPress is an additional resource attached to WordPress that will make the site more sociable. Think of it as the Facebook of our own site.
It will allow you to upload profile (more. . .)

I wanted to start this post by saying thank you to anyone I haven’t personally thanked. Either because you were just a friend or family member of someone I directly contacted about voting, or if you were someone we don’t know at all that just came across my post and took the time to go and vote. Also, thank you to those I already personally thanked!
My wife did indeed (more. . .)

If this doesn’t melt your cold heart, nothing will.
In Norway, on the Austfonna ice cap, located on Nordaustlandet in the Svalbard archipelago, the ice is melting. Rising sea levels due to early ice melt are causing great concern to scientists around the globe.
Marine photographer and environmental lecturer Michael Nolan captured the stunning picture of the disappearing glacier, and the image that turned up is at once awe inspiring (more. . .)

A cry for help is sometimes a silent scream. It bellows into the night only to dissipate into vapour, caught in an invisible mist of sadness that surrounds but never penetrates those who pass it by. A death shroud.

I’ve decided that I’m going to take a leap and post some of my fiction here on the blog. Eventually, this is intended to be a novel, but I’ll be posting the story here as it develops. Likely once I am finished, I’ll come back and delete these posts, but for those of you faithful followers of Extraordinary Intelligence, consider this your sneak peak!
Now, I’m already several chapters into (more. . .)

For those that do not know, my wife is a 4th grade teacher here in Oklahoma. She recently took a two day professional development workshop on “Digital Storytelling.”
Digital storytelling is basically just what it sounds like. You take digital images, either pictures you have taken or have found online and create your own little story. You then overlay some background music if you’d like, (more. . .)

I was on my way home from work, and I passed a little shop called “Abundant Treasures.” I wondered what was in that shop. Some kind of gift shop filled with cards and trinkets and teddy bears? Or maybe a thrift store, smelling dank and dusty with lots of stuff on the cheap. Whatever it was, I didn’t stop to look. I wondered, but I didn’t pull the car over (more. . .)

That’s right. It almost passed me by, but yesterday as I was perusing my blog, as I do because it is a darn good blog, I realized that my Chupacabra post was post #99.
I pondered the possibilities. One hundred posts is a nice little milestone. I had to think of something special. But what topic is worthy of such a distinction? What topics haven’t I touched on? At first, (more. . .)

Each year my birthday usually feels about the same as any other day. I am more thankful to be alive, however, and appreciate my blessings more. Those are wonderful things, yes, but usually that’s all I feel. And maybe I enjoy a nicer meal than usual, or marvel at some thoughtful gift my husband or friend has gotten me.
This year feels different. I don’t know why exactly. I suppose (more. . .)

Here I am
In a boat
In a storm.
I’ve lost control of my boat,
My life.
Do I see death,
Or is it a vision
Of new life?

In 1863, Jules Verne embarked on a writing career that would span 60 novels, and spawned countless classics. What is most memorable about the works of Verne, is that he managed to foresee some of the modern marvels that we now take for granted. His prophetic works envisioned airplanes, glass skyscrapers, helicopters, trips to the moon, submarines, television, guided missiles, air conditioning, and motion pictures. Few other authors have been (more. . .)

I’ve been having so much fun with my camera. I recently did a few posts on my personal blog about items around my home and things to see in my city. However, when I showed them to my brother, this was his reaction…
